Between 2000 and 2004, I wrote and recorded an album called The Troubled Planet Project. It was created during a period of rapid change—not only in the world around me, but in the technology available to an independent musician. Using the digital tools of that era, I set out to build something ambitious: an album in which the music would be every bit as interesting, challenging, and emotionally alive as the lyrics.
Then the recordings were lost to a catastrophic system failure.
For twenty-two years, the project existed only as a memory—an unfinished conversation with a troubled world. But technology continued to evolve. Tools that could not have been imagined when the album was first recorded eventually made it possible to retrieve the performances, repair the damaged material, and return to the project with fresh ears.
Now, after more than two decades, The Troubled Planet Project has finally been recovered, remixed, and remastered.
This is not a recreation of the original album. These are the original recordings—the voices, instruments, ideas, and emotions captured between 2000 and 2004—carefully restored and given the clarity, depth, and power they were always intended to possess.
After twenty-two years in the shadows, this lost album has found its way home. I invite you to listen not merely to the words, but to the landscapes surrounding them—the rhythms, textures, voices, and musical surprises created to make the journey as compelling as the message.
